I heard some mention of an Irish connection to Bolivia in the headlines of the RTE news last night, but paid no heed. I thought it was going to be some sort of story about some enterprising go-getter producing llama feed since the pork scare earlier in the year. Hell no. Well maybe it was, but that’s not important right now.

The dead are believed to be a Bolivian, a Hungarian and a Romanian, and government sources said they were holding an Irish man and a Croat in custody.

Unconfirmed reports from within government point to a link between a bomb explosion at the Santa Cruz home of Julio Terrazas, a Catholic cardinal, this week, saying local authorities investigating the explosion followed the trail to the hotel where the alleged conspirators were staying. Security forces were reported to have found a cache of weapons.
