Christians Under The Bed Scare

I am writing a long-ish post on religion that might not end up anywhere interesting. But in the meantime..

From left-field, the threat we must not ignore – Analysis, Opinion – Independent.ie

It is testament to the propaganda skills of the Left that no matter how violent its actions, or socially divisive and hateful its rhetoric, left-wing politics is still viewed by many people as being morally superior to anything offered by the Right.

It is testament to the propaganda skills of Jesus and his followers that no matter how violent their actions (cutting off the ears of slaves), or socially divisive (“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.”) and hateful their rhetoric (“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters–yes, even his own life — he cannot be my disciple”), Jesus’s politics is still viewed by many people as being morally superior to anything offered by the priests, scribes and Roman authorities.

This is why ICTU economist Paul Sweeney attacked inheritance ‘brats’ on ‘Today with Pat Kenny’ two days ago. What he meant is anyone who receives an inheritance from their parents and doesn’t have to pay tax on the first €500,000. ‘Brat’ potentially means anyone from the rich to the poor.

Yeah, right. Uh-huh. Whatever you say, Quinner.

When you have a God in your mind (say, Karl Marx or Jesus or the AC Milan football team), you’ll find a way to rationalize and you’ll be able to find something good even in the most unjust thing.

In Italy the curch said that the earthquake came to help people to suffer as Christ suffered.

    Woha. Logical.

That’s true, ParkaDude. I hope the Church is leading prayers thanking God for the earthquake.

Did JC perish in an earthquake? That’s not what they told me!
