Piece of Piss

The cow is of the bovine ilk, one end is moo, the other…aahh that’s better:

India to launch cow urine as soft drink – Times Online

India’s Hindu nationalist movement apparently has the answer: a new soft drink made from cow urine.

Not my cup of pee, but whatever gets you out of bed in the morning.

This reminds me of one time I was reading a notice above a urinal that said ‘Please Wash Your Hands’, under which someone had written ‘Urine Is Sterile You Moron’, under which someone else had written ‘Yes But Your Knob Isn’t’.

Papa Oom Bow Wow

If I might make a general observation, there are far too many men in positions of power in this country, in the political system, in the workplace, in media. Nearly everyone supposed by media outlets to have an interesting opinion on the matter of the recession is male. 100% of economists consulted in the media are male. Last week on the Late Late Show there was the ludicrous spectacle of John Waters (who in fairness came across as the most reasonable – not that this is much praise), Eamonn Dunphy and Eoghan Harris being consulted as though they were three wise men. And now this:

Cowen fills our need for strong father figure – The Irish Times – Fri, Feb 13, 2009

Now, the party’s over, we need a different kind of father. Coming to grips with this has been Brian Cowen’s problem these past eight months. At first he tried to continue in the Bertie mould, but every instinct – his and ours – told everyone this was wrong. Now, yes, he has found his mojo: his daddy mojo. We have waited and waited, and now our father has come home.

Barking. Absolutely barking.

Half Hour of Refuse

I have heard Morrissey’s new album, Years of Refusal. It stinks. This is Morrissey’s worst album ever. I thought the last one was intriguing and delicate. Whilst his albums have always had a dodgy tune or two, this entire album is barely listenable, and the lyrics are dreadful. Avoid.
