We Have Anthrax

A senior US government scientist who helped investigate a series of deadly anthrax attacks in 2001 has died from an apparent suicide, just as the Justice Department was about to charge him with carrying out the attacks, the Los Angeles Times reported today.

Conspiracy? You decide! But read Glenn Greenwald’s post on the matter before you do:

It’s extremely possible — one could say highly likely — that the same people responsible for perpetrating the attacks were the ones who fed the false reports to the public, through ABC News, that Saddam was behind them. What we know for certain — as a result of the letters accompanying the anthrax — is that whoever perpetrated the attacks wanted the public to believe they were sent by foreign Muslims.

US government in ‘terrorism’ shocker.

Dog And Boner

A columnist imagines:

Of course, phone sex in the Muslim world must be odd (Question: ‘What are you wearing?’ Answer: ‘a burqa, what else do you think I’d be wearing?’)

The vast majority of women in the Muslim world don’t wear burqas, and those who do wear them don’t wear them at home. So the joke fails, the racist characterisation succeeds, and whilst we are no closer to knowledge of what phone sex in the Muslim world must be like, we are significantly closer to concluding that any form of sex for this writer must be odd.
