Portugal mother ‘sick not drunk

Whatever the particulars of this case, I agree that the distinction made here by the local SDLP councillor is important. Many has been the night I have landed back home, after 9 or 10 pints, and vomited over the furniture, only to be unjustly accused of drunkenness when in fact I was just violently sick after a night’s heavy drinking.

The Daily Mail is making a big deal of the fact that these parents are middle class, even going as far as publishing a photo of their house and making a valuation, it being implicitly understood that families with less money get drunk in front of the children all the time, not to mention those who soak their kids’ Farley’s Rusks in WKD.
