Cash, Cows

Information is as valuable as cash. We need to start treating it that way.

That sounds like a good idea, but is cash in fact valuable? Only in so far as it can be exchanged for other things. Cash therefore has no value of its own.

Things are often described as ‘valuable’ because they could be exchanged for a lot of cash. But cash can’t be exchanged for cash. Yeah, you can exchange one form of cash (say Euros) for another (Dollars), but it’s still cash.

No wonder the Queen never bothers with it.

The woman could have said that information is as valuable as cows. That would have been more correct, if not entirely so.

Yes, and since everyone knows you can increase the value of your cow by administering angel dust, we should not be afraid to recognise drugs as a form of investment either.
